Stewardship | Padyak Serye

Kaleidoscopic photo
In and out of season... Look up, stare beyond and remind yourself, “I am a steward God made me to be.”

(These are four pictures that has its own caption, i.e. reflection.)

Steward - The Farmer
THE FARMER
I am staring a land which is farmed from generation to generation. Cultivate, weed, water, repeat. The work is so demanding and the reaping appears so far. I look to the determination of the farmer in sowing the seeds. His endurance in tilting the soil. His unwavering commitment in cultivation. His patience for growth. His joy to look forward for the harvest.

He daily wrestling with the soil. He has no control of the sun or the rain but he remains hardworking. He believes in perseverance but believes more that Someone up there is in control of everything.

He is a good steward. I love that expectancy of a #FARMER.

Steward - The Sailor
THE SAILOR
I am staring the blue sea, its waves, tides, and depths. It is far and wide. I remember the untold voyage of a patient sailor. He has a vision for his destination and understands what it takes to get there. When he is lonely, he stares the horizon and he regains a sense of perspective. While the pessimist complains about the wind and the optimist expects it to change, he is a realist that adjusts his sails. Smooth sea never made him a skillful sailor. Strong winds and waves did.

He is a good steward. I love that consistency of a #SAILOR.

Steward - The Gardener

THE GARDENER
I am staring the beautiful flowers on the wayside. I wonder how much drop of the rain that fall for each flower to bloom, and how much trial would we experience to radiate beauty in the garden of life.

I remember the analogy in the Bible mentioned in John 15. Jesus is the vine, we are the branches, the Father is the husbandmen. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine. Those painful seasons of pruning is for the purpose of getting to be good and bringing out the best.

I smile for the gardener for his purpose to the vine - to be deeply rooted, flourishing and fruitful. Just as our Heavenly Father wants us to be deeply rooted in Christ, fruitful to His work, and flourishing for His glory.

I smile for his gentle touch called green thumb.

He is a good steward. I love that gentleness of the #GARDENER.

Steward - The Fisherman

THE FISHERMAN
I am staring the river that is always there. I watch the water flowing and look this simple fisherman. I ought to remember by his distinguishing qualities as I am commanded to be a fisher of men.

His patience – it takes time to catch a fish, as well as to see people come to faith. His perseverance - some days he get nothing, and the next day he catch the biggest fish he never expect – reminds me to keep what I am doing. His good instinct for going to the right place and dropping the net at the right time. His wisdom in using the rods, or nets, or any tools just to sustain a daily living – he is indeed wise.

He is a good steward. I love that determination of a #FISHERMAN.

COMMITMENT SPEECH SAMPLE

It was August of last year when my niece asked me to help her making a commitment speech for their induction program. We tried at least to become relevant – August is Buwan ng Wika, so we decided to use most of it in Filipino; she loves Mathematics, so we agreed to use and relate Math as her introduction; she is not actually fluent in English (and she admits that), so she practiced her pagka-maka-bayan kuno! 😁 Below is the full text of her speech and I found it saved on my laptop. ****************************************** Our esteemed Guest speaker, our active School Principal, Faculty and Facilitative Staffs, Fellow Officers, Fellow Students, Ladies and Gentlemen, a pleasant morning to one and all. ...

Pamana

One historian said, "PAMANA (Heritage) is something that is passed down from one generation to the next. Heritage are also family’s tradition, values, wisdom, principles, and formed experiences that are not static but revolves over time ." This poem is inspired by 1 Thessalonians 1:3. Walang patid kong ...

Just a Short Message for Incoming Engineering Students

(I shared this text to someone and I am inspired to put on here, in hopes that it can encourage also somebody.) Study for life, not for grades. When the time comes that you do not hit your aim to have excellent grades, remember that passing or conditional or even failing grades is a norm in Engineering school. Be strong and have a good courage. Extreme pressures come along. And when failure comes, take in mind and in heart that failure is a not a person. Failure is just an event. Most often, a series of events. Enjoy to endure and endure to enjoy. Engineering is enduring and enjoying. (The half has not yet been told in all engineering Fb pages or vlog contents. Discover the wonders for yourself.) Look for seniors or upper class  men whom you can look up to and listen to them. When you do, you will also have a story to tell to younger than you someday. If you cannot find good kuyas and ates , be the trailblazer. Expect the worst but hope for the best! When we say h...
